I took these shots while hiking in Hyalite Canyon this past summer. A way too short summer for my taste. I will miss my little six legged friends until the thaw next spring.
Laura - Thank you for the kind comment. The first one is a very interesting bug indeed. I think it's a fly of some sort. I wasn't able to get a very good look at it. I do like the amber color.
Unknown Mami - Thank you for the wonderful comment. Glad I was able to convert someone. A lot of people don't like insects much. Depending upon the bug, I don't usually like to have them in the house. We currently have a pet ladybug on our spider plant though. I guess they'll come inside to hibernate and then leave. Hopefully we can provide a good home until it flies off.
Arabesque - Thank you for the kind comment. Macros are definitely my favorite. Always liked the details. I'm just glad that I found something that fits my talent for noticing such small things.
Anyes - I love insects so it doesn't bother me any to get right up close. Sometimes that's because I'm not fully aware of the defense mechanisms of that creature. I've never been stung or bitten though, so it's working out well so far.
